American Board of Surgery

Year Joined Emory as a Faculty Member

Dr. Srinivasan received her MD from Northwestern University in Chicago and did her general surgery residency at Emory. When she was appointed director of surgical simulation and elective programs of the Department of Surgery in 2011, she successfully integrated a small groups training model into the program's resident curriculum as an antidote to large-scale training sessions in an already saturated core curriculum. She has participated in Emory Medishare's summer trips to Haiti's L'Hôpital Sainte-Thérèse de Hinche as both a leader and surgeon since 2010. Born as an affiliate of Project Medishare, a non-profit consortium of U.S. medical schools dedicated to providing comprehensive health and development services in Haiti, Emory Medishare is a consortium of faculty surgeons and anesthesiologists; surgery residents; anesthesiology fellows; medical students; and mid-level practitioners that provide surgical care to residents of Haiti's Plateau Central, the poorest and most medically underserved region in the country.
