 Degree and Transcript Requirements

All international students must have a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing (or equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in nursing with a major in nursing). Upon completion of the program, international students will be eligible to take the Board Certification Exam. To be considered for admission to the Emory WOCNEC program, student transcripts MUST (1) be in English, and (2) be evaluated for equivalency to a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing.

 Insurance

All Emory WOCNEC students MUST HAVE Nurses Liability Coverage. The coverage must be requested by the student and paid in U.S. funds, the minimum mandatory amounts being $1,000,000 each incident, $3,000,000 aggregate. The agency used is the student's decision; however, the center must be furnished with a face sheet of the particular policy showing coverage and expiration date.

Liability insurance may be applied for through the NSO website. Since a social security number is requested during the application process, international applicants should type in 000-00-0000 when prompted. The following Emory WOCNEC address should also be used as the required U.S. address:

 Language Requirement

In addition to the Emory WOCNEC program being an extremely demanding program with many classroom hours, all instruction is in English. Therefore, all international students must have a documented score of at least 550 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

 Visa Details

For a list of documentation needed to process visas at Emory, please visit the International Student and Scholar Programs (ISSP) website. Primarily, the visa requestor must submit a completed J-1 Visiting Scholar Information Form along with any ORIGINAL documentation.
