There are many areas in which the Division of Vascular Surgery at Emory University is making major contributions to the diagnosis and management of vascular disease. These include the development of new minimally invasive approaches for the treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, new treatment strategies for limb-threatening arterial disease, mechanisms to reduce or eliminate stroke risk from diseases of the carotid artery, and novel approaches to treat large and small vessel venous disease and lymphedema. These research endeavors range from gene therapy to the development of artificial blood vessel substitutes and the evaluation of new pharmaceuticals and devices. Much of this research is made possible by private support. With your help, we can continue to make major strides in advancing our research. Gifts to the Emory Vascular Research Foundation can be made in many ways and for a variety of purposes. Some individuals help create endowments, which last in perpetuity and may be named in honor of the donor(s) or the surgeon to whom it is pledged. Others provide immediate support for research, training, or new equipment. Support may be made through an outright gift, a pledge payable over a period of years, a life-income gift such as a charitable remainder trust or annuity, or a bequest. Gifts may be made in the form of cash, appreciated securities, real estate, or personal property. For over 75 years surgeons at Emory University Hospital have been in the forefront of research and treatment of a variety of vascular diseases and sharing their expertise as they train the next generation of vascular specialists. If you would like to make a cash contribution to the Emory Vascular Research Foundation, please make your check payable to Emory University and enclose a note indicating how you would like your gift directed. If you would like your contribution made in honor or memory of another, please provide their name and a contact address of the appropriate party so we may inform them of your generosity. Please send your gift to the Division of Vascular Surgery at the address listed below: Elliot
