Faculty transplant surgeons of the Department of Surgery perform adult and pediatric heart, kidney, kidney-pancreas, liver, and lung transplant services for the Emory Transplant Center (ETC), Georgia's most comprehensive transplant program.

The ETC is a prestigious, multi-tiered organization committed to providing patients with superior quality outcomes and to developing new transplant therapies to prevent or delay organ failure. Dr. Thomas Pearson, Livingston Professor of Surgery and director of the kidney transplant program at Emory University Hospital, is executive director of the ETC.

At the ETC, Department of Surgery transplant surgeons collaborate with Emory cardiologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, hematologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and experts in the field of infectious diseases. The transplant teams at the ETC also include nurse practitioners, physician assistants, transplant coordinators, psychiatric staff, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, and financial counselors.

Comprehensive information about all facets of the ETC can be found at the center's Emory Healthcare-based website, including details on research and clinical trials.
