Biography

Dr. Stouffer earned his MD from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, completed his general surgery residency at Michigan State University, and did his fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Florida. Prior to joining Emory, he held positions at East Tennessee Cardiovascular Surgery Group in Knoxville, the Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah Vascular and Cardiac Institute, and Savannah's Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he was co-medical director of the structural heart program.

Dr. Stouffer's primary clinical location is the cardiothoracic surgery service at Grady Memorial Hospital, which is directed by Dr. Brent Keeling. In addition to assisting Dr. Keeling with further developing the cardiac and thoracic surgery services at Grady, Dr. Stouffer is building a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) practice at the hospital. Dr. Stouffer is also a member of the structural heart and valve center at Emory University Hospital Midtown.
