Dr. Haack is an attending at the acute and critical care surgery service of Emory University Hospital (EUH). The service was established in 2010 to provide the EUH emergency department with a revolving surgical staff of on-site faculty attendings assisted by resident teams. Dr. Haack received her MD from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2006 and completed her general surgery residency at Emory in June 2011. During her chief residency, she was named a Grady Healthcare Hero by the Grady Health Foundation and received the David V. Feliciano Teaching Award. In 2013, Dr. Haack led the creation of the content for Emory's patient education iPad app "Come Clean: Stop Surgical Infections Before They Start," which is intended to educate patients on wound care and how to reduce their risks for surgical site infections. Dr. Haack also appears in the audio and video portion of the app.
