Graduate and Postdoctoral Research Opportunities

Postdoctoral position available in the area of molecularly engineered thin films for the design of blood contacting intravascular stents, arterial substitutes, and artificial organs. The successful candidate will interact within an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers involved in physiochemical, biological, and in vivo investigations of membrane-mimetic assemblies, genetically engineered enzymes, and biologically inspired systems. Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or chemical biology required. Background in surface chemistry and/or chemical genetics is desirable.

Postdoctoral position available in the area of protein engineering for the design of protein fiber assemblies directed at applications in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. The successful candidate will interact within an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers involved in physiochemical, biological, and in vivo investigations of biopolymer analogues and bioMEMS assisted molecular assembly. Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in solid phase peptide synthesis required. Background in techniques for characterization of protein tertiary and quaternary structure is desirable.

Postdoctoral position available in the area of glycoprotein engineering directed at applications in Drug Delivery and Regenerative Medicine. The successful candidate will interact within an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers involved in physiochemical, biological, and in vivo investigations of biopolymer analogues for the controlled local delivery of angiogenic and/or anti-inflammatory compounds. Ph.D. in organic chemistry is required. Background in natural or synthetic carbohydrate chemistry, protein-carbohydrate molecular interactions, and/or drug delivery is desirable.
